Bi-directional Meter

A utility meter that measures electricity flowing in both directions: power drawn from the grid and excess solar power sent back. Your utility installs one to enable net metering credits.

Bill Credit

The monetary credit applied to your electric bill for excess solar energy exported to the grid. Under Ohio net metering, credits offset future usage, lowering your monthly utility costs.

Bypass Diode

A small electronic component inside a solar panel that lets current flow around shaded or damaged cells. Bypass diodes prevent one shaded section from dragging down the entire panel's output.

Clipping
