After I sign the agreement, when should I expect my solar electric
system to be up and running?
Depending upon the time it takes the ODOD to process the paperwork for the grant,
your photovoltaic system will usually be installed in anywhere from 60 to 90 days.

If I get a tax refund back at the end of the year, do I still benefit
from the renewable energy tax credit?
The renewable energy tax credit is used to offset any money that is owed to the
Federal government at the end of the fiscal year. If the money that is offered by
the Federal government for your solar energy system is more than the amount that
you owe in taxes, the remaining balance will roll over to be used in the following
years until 2016.

What brand of solar panels do you use?
We use a few different brands depending upon availability when installing solar
panels while ensuring that each panel is made from the highest quality silicon photovoltaic
cells.

What is the bottom line amount of money that I need to fund my
photovoltaic system?
The bottom line amount to fund a solar system is the total contract cost subtracted
by the Ohio AEF renewable energy grant, which is usually about 40%-50% of the installed
cost.

Do I need to brush snow off of my solar panels in the winter?
You don’t have to brush snow off of the panels, but doing so will increase your
solar watt output. The annual solar power output estimate already takes into consideration
loss of photovoltaic production due to snow, so any snow that is brushed off will
increase the production of the solar panels. But doing nothing will not lower your
solar system’s output below the original estimate.

Do I need to clean my solar panels of dirt accumulation?
Dirt accumulating on photovoltaic panels is referred to as soiling. This is not
a large concern for this region of the country due to our relatively clear atmosphere
and regular rainfall.

Is there any problems with roofing leaks after installation?
All installations are weather-sealed so that there is no threat of leaky roofs.
If a leak does occur, all repairs will fall under the YellowLite labor warranty
and will promptly be corrected.

Is there any danger in installing photovoltaic systems? (i.e.,
electrical problems, fire, etc.)
All of the electrical components of the solar power systems are professionally installed
and encased in protective material, ensuring the safety of your solar home.

Will my city/township approve solar installation?
We have not yet run into any circumstances in which a city/township would not allow
a solar installation. Benefiting owners and the environment, solar homes are an
attractive addition to any city or township.

What are SREC’s and how do they benefit me?
SREC stands for Solar Renewable Energy Credits. A credit is separate from the revenue
of solar electric production. One credit is awarded for every MWh of energy produced
by a solar system and can be sold to the utility or third-party companies at a price
negotiated by the customer. These renewable energy credits can be accumulated and
sold as long as your system produces solar energy. All of our customers have the
option of YellowLite’s handling of renewable credit sales.

If I don’t pay taxes do I still benefit from the federal renewable
energy tax incentive?
If you don’t pay taxes then you will not profit from the renewable energy tax incentive,
although the tax credit rolls over to the next fiscal year every year until 2016.
If you pay taxes during this time frame, then you would be compensated at the end
of that year.

Does my home owners insurance cover solar installations?
Solar panel installations are usually considered additions to the home and should
be covered by your home owners insurance. We encourage customers to call and make
sure their insurance policy covers photovoltaic installations.

How long is the solar installation warrantied under YellowLite?
Our photovoltaic installations are guaranteed for two years after your solar electric
system becomes operational. The solar equipment installed carries its own warranty
and will be backed by the issuing company.

Do you need to install a solar system that runs the entire solar
home or can you start with a small system and add to it as you are financially able?
Yes, you can start small. The only restriction customers should be aware of is that
applicants for the Ohio photovoltaic rebate can only receive one grant per household.
Because of this, most people try to install a lager solar electric system for their
first installation and add a smaller amount of solar panels down the road.
If the Ohio photovoltaic grant does not get approved am I still
obligated to purchase the solar panel system and will I get my deposit refunded?
If the renewable energy grant is not approved for any reason, we will refund the
complete deposit amount.

What do you do with solar panels once they cannot produce solar
energy anymore?
Being an environmentally conscious solar company, we provide e-waste recycling programs
that would properly take care of solar panel waste in a safe and environmentally
friendly fashion.
